Evaluation

To make sure that mihealth meets the needs of its users and that they can utilise the system in the course of their daily lives we are carrying out a series of independently evaluated pilot studies. These studies will look at the provision of patient information via mihealth at different parts of the patient journey.

A user-oriented approach

The School of Population, Community and Behavioural Sciences at Liverpool University are currently conducting an independent evaluation of mihealth with NHS patients and staff in Newcastle and Carlisle.

Drawing on work in philosophy, sociology and anthropology, the research team have taken a user-oriented approach that aims to document the ways in which breast cancer patients, in conjunction with friends, carers and family, access and utilise information technology in the course of their daily lives. | The School of Population, Community and Behavioural Sciences
