About us
Our history
mihealth originated as the inspiration of Jane Wood after her diagnosis of breast cancer in August 2000. The concept for mihealth was developed at the
International Centre for Digital Content (ICDC) at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) in 2001 where Jane worked as a project manager exploring the use of new technologies in educational contexts.
The system was successfully piloted with breast cancer patients at the Linda McCartney Centre at Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust during 2005/2006 where it is now available.
As interest in mihealth grew and with a determination to see the system made widely available to patients, mihealth Ltd was formed in 2005 as a spin out company that would roll the service out to the healthcare sector.
